Apple's newest rendition of the apple watch features some major breakthroughs in fitness tracking. In addition to the standard functions of fitness tracking, such as heart rate, steps counted, and calories burned, the Apple Watch Series 7 incorporates new to give more in depth health analysis. With built in sensors, the Series 7 can measure blood-oxygen level, allows you to take an ECG, and even tracks your sleep patterns and recommends bedtimes and sleep schedules based on your activity level. The only downside to this watch is the hefty price tag of $399, but if you utilize all its features on a daily basis it is well worth the investment.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

The Samsung Galaxy watch 4 is a great alternative to the Apple Watch, especially for Samsung phone users who can take advantage of the watch's compatibility with their mobile device. Samsung's watch also allows users to take an ECG, tracks steps, heart rate, and sleep patterns. One intriguing feature about the watch is the ability to participate in live coaching sessions via your phone and to even compete with friends with challenges that are built into the watch. Coming in at a price of $245, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is a fine option for fitness tracking and for Samsung phone users in particular. 

Garmin Forerunner 55

If you're a hardcore runner, then the 55 is the watch for you. The Garmin Forerunner 55 offers in depth running analysis by tracking things like pace and  cadence and even creating goals for you based on your personal running performance. In addition to the advanced running function of the Garmin model, there are other health functions such as heart rate tracking, advice, and other built in sports apps that track performance for different workouts.

Fitbit Charge 5

Fitbit has always been viewed as the leader of the fitness tracking industry and its newest products reinforce this popular notion. The Fitness charge 5 has been a hit since its release due to its sleek and subtle design coupled with an array of health and fitness functions. In addition to counting steps and heart rate, the FitBit charge 5 offers appealing analysis such as a stress management score, oxygen saturation monitoring, sleep score, and daily readiness score which determines if your body is ready for physical activity or if you should recover. The Fitbit Charge 5 is a great option for athletes looking for a large variety of health functions and for a watch that doesn't stand out on your wrist as much as the other models.
