Maddie McCollins is a fifth-year student on the women's hockey team at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. UW River Falls is currently the number-one ranked team in the country and has a 12-0 record.
Maddie McCollins is ranked first in the nation in points per game (2.42), assists per game (1.42), and faceoff wins (172). In 12 games, McCollins already has 12 goals and 17 assists.
McCollins is in her fifth season with the Falcons and has collected more than a few awards. As a sophomore, she was named AHCA Scholar All-American, and as a senior, she was named USCHO Player of the Year, AHCA Player of the Year finalist, AHCA & USCHO first-team All-American, Co-WIAC Player of the Year, UWRF Female Athlete of the Year, and she set the school single-season scoring record with 28 goals.
McCollins will be looking to repeat her stellar performance from last year. She is already on an impressive scoring and assists streak, so it is looking good for her. After recently defeating the number two team in the country, the Falcons' next game is on January 5th against Concordia College at 7:05 PM. River Falls is almost halfway through their season, and the number-one-ranked team's future is looking promising.
