Training over spring break can be difficult when you have no set practices or team to practice with. However, this training is extremely important as it is part of the foundation for your season. Finding motivation can be difficult but here are five tips to help!
1. Set specific times to do your workout
If you set specific times to do your workouts each day, it gets your body into a routine so it is easier to stay on track.
2. Find a teammate or friend to workout with
It can be difficult to workout alone on spring break so if you find a teammate or a friend to do your workouts with you and push you the easier it will be. If you are training and have no teammates close by, get a friend to come with you, even if they are doing a different workout.
3. Make a list of goals you have for the season
Make a list of goals that you have for yourself for the upcoming season and hang it somewhere that you can see every day. This is a good way to stay motivated because it allows you to see the goals that you are working for.
4. Reward yourself
It is important for you to recognize all of the hard work that you are putting in during the off-season by rewarding yourself. This could be as little as getting yourself a treat after a hard workout day or getting dinner to celebrate the hard work that you are putting in. The reward you give yourself can be anything as long as it keeps you motivated and working hard.
5. Track progress
Tracking your progress can be one of the most rewarding things as an athlete because it shows you that all of your hard work is paying off. There are many different apps used to track your progress or you write it in a notebook.
