 This quote from Ernie Banks speaks volumes about the true nature of sportsmanship and humility, and is an important skill for all young athletes to learn and master in their athletic mindsets. It's even more significant when you consider the kind of ballplayer Banks was.

Ernest “Ernie” Banks was a first baseman for the Chicago Cubs between the years of 1953 and 1971. The right-hander was a 2 time league MVP, 14 time all-star selection and golden glove winner in 1960. Ernie was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977, and he passed away in 2015, just 8 days short of his 84th birthday. He was a champion in every sense of the word–even when he lost.
