The Lake Forest lacrosse team has a tradition of everyone's parents turning the tailgate over to the team for us to clean out. Whether it's burgers on the grill, catering, or something else, it's always delicious right after the game and reminds me of team dinners and banquets in high school. It's also a good way to celebrate a win or to eat some comfort food after a loss.

Athletes in all sports are hard workers, but even the most elite of us need to have . Whether that's through tailgating, team dinners, or just hanging out with friends, fun is essential for athletes because we all need to cut loose every once in a while and break away from our sport. With the Super Bowl coming up, try to make time for something fun this weekend. Watch the game, grill some burgers, place some friendly bets–do whatever guarantees a great time for yourself. Your sport will be there when you come back and indulging in a little fun helps you become a better athlete.
