Macey Wissell is a graduate student on the women's soccer team at the University of Mary Washington. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Macey was able to use her 5th year of eligibility to play another year of college soccer. She is currently getting her Master of Business Administration, and she takes two classes every eight weeks. Here is what a day in Macey's life looks like being a student-athlete with a stressful course load:
6:30 AM: Wake Up
Macey usually wakes up around 6:30 to let her dog out and feed her. She then will get herself ready for her morning lift.
7:30 AM: Lift
Macey will have a morning lift with her team.
8:30 AM: Breakfast
Macey will then go back to her apartment to eat breakfast. She usually has some peanut butter toast and berries. She will then take her dog for a walk.
10 AM: Trainer
She will head over to the trainer to do her physical therapy and treatment for an hour.
12 PM: Lunch
Macey will go to the dining hall around noon. She has the gluten-free option, which is usually some form of chicken, rice, and salad.
12:30 PM: Head home
After lunch, Macey goes back to her apartment to take care of her dog and puts on some comfy clothes.
1-2 PM: Homework
3 PM: Film
The team will usually have a film session right before practice starts.
3:30 – 5:30 PM: Practice
6:00 PM: Dinner
After practice, Macey will go back to her apartment to feed and take out her dog. She then chefs up some dinner which is usually some sort of meat and veggies. She of course has to have a sweet treat after dinner, and then it's off to the study grind.
8 PM: Study
Macey goes over to the HCC, which is a place on campus where everyone goes to do homework and study.
10:30 PM: Bedtime
After her long day, it's finally time to head back to her apartment and go to bed.
