No matter what sport, division, or school you go attend, being a student-athlete is going to be hard. Your daily grind is always going to be a grind. One example is Cora Kakalec who was a Division III sprinter for Tufts University. She recently graduated from Tufts as a Community Health and Civic Studies double major. Her senior year, she was a team captain and mostly ran short sprints for the track and field team. Today, Cora gave us a look into what her daily grind looked like as a student-athlete!
8:15 am: Wake up
Cora starts off her daily grind by waking up and eating breakfast at this time.
9 am: Class
Cora has a seminar on water, sanitation, and hygiene in global health.
11:30-1:30: Break/Lunch
Depending on the day, sometimes Cora will go get treatment from her trainer if she has lingering injuries, or other days she will head home and eat lunch.
1:30-4 pm: Class
This class is about special topics in race and racism though literature in public health.
4:30 pm: Practice!
As a sprinter, practice will normally look like a warmup, accels, then the workout, and finally a cool down.
6:30 pm: Dinner
Cora will make dinner a lot of nights with her roommates and some of her teammates!
8:00 pm: Homework/Hangout!
This is time Cora will use to finish some homework and catch up with her roommates and friends!
11:30: Head to Bed!
