Annie Gilman is a freshman Division III runner at the University of Hartford who is on the cross country and track & field teams. On top of being a three-season all-star athlete, she is also a radiology major who is very committed to her studies. Let's take a look at a day in her life!
6:00 AM: Wakeup
Annie and her team have an early wake-up for their morning practice.
6:30 AM: Practice
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Annie has practice in the morning because the team goes to the track to do their workout.
8:00 AM: Breakfast
After the hard workout, Annie has breakfast with her team at the dining hall.
8:30-10:00 AM: Shower/Take a nap
After an early morning, Annie goes back to her dorm to take a shower and get some rest before the rest of her day starts.
10:30-10:45 AM: Chemistry Homework
Once Annie wakes up from her nap she starts some of her chemistry homework as she normally has a lot of it each week.
10:45-11:20 AM: Get ready for Class
After getting a head start on homework she gets ready to go to class.
11:20 AM-12:35 PM: Class #1
Annie's first class of the day is communications.
12:45-1:45 PM: Class #2
Annie's second class of the day is ENHP (Education, Nursing, and Health Professions).
2:00-3:00 PM: Lift
The team has a lift every Tuesday and Thursday with their strength and conditioning coach.
3:00-3:25 PM: Lunch
After lifting, the whole team normally goes to lunch at the dining hall once they have gotten ready to go to their afternoon classes.
3:35-4:50 PM: Class #3
Annie's third class of the day is math.
5:00-7:20 PM: Class #4
Annie's fourth class of the day is Literature and Culture of Immigrant Groups.
7:30-8:00 PM: Dinner
After class, Annie goes to get dinner with some of the other freshmen on the team.
8:00-10:00 PM: Study Hall
Every freshman on the cross country and track and field team is required to get 6 hours of study hall a week or it is counted as a missed practice.
10:15 PM: Get ready for bed
At the end of her day, Annie likes to watch Masterchef Junior before heading to bed.
