Jane Kakalec is a sophomore on the women's D3 track and field team at Wesleyan University. Between running both indoor and outdoor track and being an economics major and a data analytics minor, Jane has her hands full. Here is what a day in her life as a D3 track athlete looks like!
8 AM: Wake up
Jane wakes up and grabs a quick breakfast before heading out for the day.
9 AM: Class #1
Jane's first class of the day is Intro to Psychology.
10:30 AM: Class #2
Her second class of the day is Economic Theory.
12-1 PM: Lunch
Jane will get lunch at the cafeteria or another dining spot on campus with her friends and/or teammates.
1-3 PM: Homework
Jane heads to the library to get ahead on her homework.
3-4 PM: Downtime
Finally, Jane heads back to her down to get ready for practice and relax before heading to practice.
4:30 PM: Practice
The track practices will always start with a warmup and mobility. Then, depending on the day, they will do a regular run or a track workout. The team will always finish with stretching.
7 PM: Dinner
Jane will go to the cafeteria with her team to get some dinner.
8-10 PM: Homework
Jane will go back to the library to finish up any work she has left.
10 PM: Relax
After a long day, Jane will head back home and hang out with her roommates before going to bed.
