General Guidelines

Before writing your email there are some important dos and don'ts to know!

  1. Write a draft: Your first email is always going to be your worst. Write a draft, get some feedback from parents and coaches, and edit it up.
  2. Be professional: Coaches want to see your personality, but most importantly, they want to know that you are mature enough to write a professional email.
  3. Don't make it too long: Coaches don't have time to read your whole life story. All they want to see is your class year, stats, and accomplishments.
  4. Read it over: The last thing you want is a spelling or grammar mistake in your email. Always make sure to double-check what your wrote.
  5. Emails aren't everything: Emails can help you get your foot in the door, but it's only the beginning when it comes to recruiting. Coaches will still want to meet with you, see you play, and have you come on a visit before you can commit.
