No-Fly Zone: Super Bowl LVII Recap

No-Fly Zone: Super Bowl LVII Recap No-Fly Zone: Super Bowl LVII Recap

LVII was a game made for headlines as Kansas City coach faced off against his old Philly team and the brothers faced off, marking the first time a pair of brothers played each other in the Super Bowl. Super Bowl VII was a battle between two of the most talented teams, and two of the most talented quarterbacks in and who also made history, as yesterday's game marked the first Super Bowl featuring Black starting quarterbacks on both teams. Neither disappointed.

But even with all the storylines and build-up of the last two weeks, no one could have imagined it would come down to the final throw. For the second time in five years, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last night with a final score of 38-35.

Oh so close

Although his team lost, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts finished 27-38 with an impressive 304 yards, 1 passing touchdown, and 15 carries for 70 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns, breaking longstanding Super Bowl records for rushing yards and combined passing yards, rushing yards, and touchdowns in a single game, regular or playoffs.

Yet, somehow these stats are not even indicative of just how well he played. He was marvelous all night as he came up clutch on plays such as a 4th and 5, where he ran for 28 yards, extending the drive. Hurts did whatever he wanted, putting Philadelphia on his back. His wide receivers and A.J. Brown both had impressive games and came up huge, each posting at least 90 receiving yards.

But while there's no denying how good the Eagles played, it's hard to win a game when you go up against a guy like Mahomes.

Dynasty? Dynasty.

There was much speculation coming into this game about Patrick Mahomes and the status of his ankle, which he injured a few weeks back but after last night, I think we can all rest assured that the ankle is alright. Mahomes finished 21-27 with 182 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. On the ground, he finished with 6 carries for 44 yards, including a 26 yard scramble.

He was impressive all night winning his second Super Bowl. Something also tells me it won't be his last.

Super Bowl VII is one for the books. It was a game of rollercoasters, constant ups and downs, teams trading score for score, instead of going on a run. It was a close game, as most expected, coming down to the wire, just as I predicted. I'm sure we will be seeing plenty more of these two teams for years to come.
