“There may be people that have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.” –Derek Jeter

This may be the truest quote there is for an athlete for one reason: Many athletes can relate to it! It can be frustrating to not be a naturally talented athlete, but remember that talent will only get you so far. And talent is pretty useless if you don't have the to support it.

Talented or not, starting positions are limited. Only 9 people start on a baseball team, only 22 people start on a football team, only 11 people start on a soccer team. More likely than not if you are on the team you won't be starting. This quote speaks on the mindset you need to beat the odds. So work hard, show up every day, and earn that starting position!
