Elizabeth White is a sophomore at the University of Hartford where she runs cross country and track. She is a hard-working student-athlete throughout practice and in the classroom where she studies Digital Media and Journalism with a focus in sports. Here is what a day in the life of a University of Hartford cross country runner looks like!
5:30 am: Wake up
Elizabeth and her team have an early wake-up call in order to make it to practice in time.
6:00-8:00 am: Running practice
Elizabeth has early morning practice every Tuesday where she and her team run to Keeney Park and do a track workout.
8:15-8:45 am: Breakfast with the team at the Commons
After practice is over Elizabeth and her team are pretty hungry so everyone goes to the Commons for breakfast before classes.
9:00 am: Shower and get ready for classes
Elizabeth goes back to her apartment to shower and get ready for her first two classes.
9:30-11:00 am: Downtime
Since it was an early morning, Elizabeth takes this time to either watch TV or take a nap before a busy day.
11:20-12:35 pm: Class #1
Elizabeth's first class of the day is Italian Renaissance.
12:45- 2:00 pm: Class #2
The second class of the day for Elizabeth is the Honors Foundation of Argument.
2:00-3:00 pm: Lift
The Hartford cross country team has a full-team weight lift session twice a week in order to gain strength to avoid injury.
3:00-3:30 pm: Lunch with the team
After lift Elizabeth goes to lunch at the Commons with a few of her teammates.
3:35-4:50 pm: Class #3
Elizabeth's third class of the day is Media Literacy.
5:00-7:20 pm: Class #4
Elizabeth's last class of the day is Philosophy with her teammate Abby.
7:30 pm: Dinner
After Elizabeth's last class, she goes back to her apartment to cook dinner.
8:00: Shower and get ready for bed
After a long day Elizabeth showers and gets ready for bed.
8:30-10:30: Homework
For the next two hours, Elizabeth will sit downstairs and watch TV while also getting ahead on the homework she got during the day.
