Liza Tankimovich is a Division I tennis player at Loyola University Maryland. Liza is also a sophomore Marketing major. Although tennis is a well-known sport, more prominent sports like basketball and football frequently receive more recognition for their dedication to their sport. While tennis may not receive the same backing, we still make comparable efforts! Today, Loyola University Maryland athlete Liza Tankimovich gave us a peek into her typical day as a Division I tennis player!
7:00 am: Get ready and dressed
Liza likes to get up early and get prepared for the day ahead.
8-9:15 am: Class #1 Marketing
9:30-9:45 am: Breakfast
Liza will eat breakfast each morning after her class, usually mobile ordering from Starbucks, which is located on campus. Her go-to is a grande pumpkin cream cold brew and tomato and mozzarella on focaccia.
10-10:40 am: Get ahead on homework for the week
10:50-12:15 pm: Class #2 Microeconomic Principles
1 pm: See Trainer for Rehab
Liza stopped by her athletic facility at the Reitz Center for strength training and treatment for her right shoulder and ankle.
2-3 pm: Lunch
Liza will get lunch with her friends after class at their dining hall.
4-6 pm: Afternoon practice
6:30-7:30 pm: Team Lift
Strength training and conditioning is vital. Liza's lifts are specific to her sport to improve her and her team further.
8 pm: Dinner at Iggy's
Iggy's is an on-campus market and dining hall that offers many options and caters to all diet restrictions.
8:45 pm: Homework
Since Liza doesn't have time to spare during the day, she uses this time to study, do her assignments, and socialize with friends.
