Treat others how you want to be treated. The golden rule translates to just about any situation.

We all love the feeling of going into a game, seeing the stands packed with your fellow athletes and peers, and hearing their cheers surround you. There’s something about knowing they took the time out of their day to support you.

When you get this great feeling, you should probably plan to go to another team’s next home game as well. Athletes support athletes. Let’s break the stigma and create a community where we want to see others thrive. It’s easy to focus on your sport and forget that other teams love being supported as well. If you don’t know where to start, these teams are often “forgotten” and show up to less-than-packed stands: cross country/track, soccer, rugby, swimming, and many women’s teams. Call your teammates and make it a team outing!

Support those who support you.
