Stanford basketball coach just surpassed 's all-time wins total with 1,203 wins. These NCAA basketball records just keep getting broken! Here are some of the current all-time record-holders within NCAA basketball:

1. Total Wins:

Men: Mike Krzyzewski 

Mike Krzyzewski (Coach K) was the head coach at Army West Point for 5 seasons before starting his 42-year career at Duke University. He won 5 national championships, advanced to 13 Final Fours, 15 ACC championships, and has the second-most wins of any NCAA coach with 1,202. 

Women: Tara VanDerveer 

Tara VanDerveer is in her 37th at Stanford University. She also spent two years at the University of Idaho and five years at Ohio State University. Coach VanDerveer has collected 3 national championships, 13 Final Four appearances, 14 Pac-12 championships, and holds the all-time win record with 1,203 wins and counting. 

2. Winning Percentage:

Men: Jim Crutchfield

Jim Crutchfield coached at West Liberty University for 13 years until arriving at Nova Southeastern University. Coach Crutchfield has had 9 NCAA appearances, making it to four Final Fours and collecting one national championship. He has a current all-time record of 509-84 and holds the win percentage record with a .858 percentage.

Women: Geno Auriemma 

Geno Auriemma has been the head coach at the University of Connecticut since 1985. He has won 11 national championships, appeared in 22 Final Fours, and has won 27 conference championships. Coach Auriemma has an overall record of 1,194–159 and has the best overall win percentage in NCAA women's basketball with a .882 percentage.

3. Fastest coach to reach 600 wins

Men: Adolph Rupp 

Adolph Rupp was the head coach at the University of Kentucky from 1930 to 1972. He won four national championships, appeared in six Final Fours, and 13 SEC Championships. With an overall record of 876–190, Coach Rupp reached 600 wins in only 704 games. 

Women: Brian Morehouse

Brian Morehouse has been the head coach at Hope College since 1996. Coach Morehouse has won two National Championships and 16 MIAA Conference titles. In 2020, became the fastest coach in NCAA history to reach 600 wins in his 690th game.

4. Fastest coach to reach 1,000 wins

Men: Mike Krzyzewski: 

A name we've seen before, Coach K holds many records in NCAA basketball. In 2015, Coach K reached the 1,000-win milestone in his 1,308th game.

Women: Geno Auriemma

Another familiar name, UConn's holds the record for the fastest coach to 1,000 wins in NCAA history. Auriemma won his 1,000th game after 1,135 total games in 2017. 

5. Most 20-win seasons

Men: Mike Krzyzewski

We just can't seem to get away from Coach K! Mike Krzyzewski had 37 20-win seasons in his career. 

Women: C. Vivian Stringer 

C. Vivian Stringer coached for Cheyney University of Pennsylvania for 11 years, the University of Iowa for 12 years, and Rutgers University for 27 years. Coach Stringer had four Final Four appearances, six Big Ten regular season titles, and three Big East regular season titles. Stringer amassed an overall record of 1055–426 and had 37 20-win seasons.

6. Winningest Division II Coaches

Men: Herb Magee

Herb Magee coached for 54 seasons at Thomas Jefferson University. He won one Division II National Championship and five CACC Championship titles. Over his coaching career, Coach Magee has the most wins in Division II basketball, with an overall record of 1144-450. 

Women: Barbara Stevens 

Barbara Stevens coached at Clark College for six years, UMass Amherst for 3 years, and Bentley University for 34 years. Coach Stevens won one Division II National Championship, 17 NE-10 regular season titles, and 17 NE-10 Tournament titles. is the winningest coach in Division II women's basketball, with an overall record of 1,058-291. 

7. Winningest Division III Coaches

Men's: Glenn Robinson

Glenn Robinson coached at Franklin and Marshall College for 48 years. He won 18 MAC Championships, appeared in 5 Final Fours, and made it to one NCAA Division III National Championship. Coach is the winningest coach in Division III history with an overall record of 967-360. 

Women's: Andy Yosinoff

Andy Yosinoff has coached at Emmanuel College for 47 years. Coach Yosinoff has won 18 conference championships, 21 Division III NCAA Tournament appearances, and has had one trip to the Final Four. holds the DIII women's basketball win record, with an overall record of 906-301 and counting.
