March Madness is almost upon us, and it is always interesting to see how these champions train. Many of the top programs have incredible amenities for their athletes, and here are some of the best college basketball locker rooms in the country:
1. Marshall University
Marshall University competes in the Sun Belt Conference. The Herd's men's basketball team has advanced to the NCAA tournament 5 times and are 4x conference champions. The women's team has five regular season championships, two conference championships, and one NCAA tournament appearance. Despite not being a big-time Power-Five school, Marshall provides some great locker rooms for their basketball teams.
2. University of San Francisco
The University of San Francisco unveiled their brand-new locker rooms in 2018. The space has super cool lighting and lockers, giving the facility a very modern feel.
USF competes in the West Coast Conference. The men's team has won 16 regular season championships, one conference championship, 17 NCAA tournament appearances, and two NCAA championships (1955 and 1956). The women's team has won four regular season championships and conference titles and has five NCAA tournament appearances.
3. Indiana University
Indiana University revealed its renovated men's basketball locker rooms in 2018. The area is more than 4,000 square feet and includes the locker room, lounge, training room, and coaches' offices.
The men's program at Indiana is 5x national champions, 22x Big Ten Conference champions, and has 41 NCAA tournament appearances.
4. University of Louisville
The University of Louisville recently renovated the men's and women's basketball locker rooms. Along with sweet lighting and super cool benches at each player's spot in the men's locker room, the area also has a lounge, ping pong table, and a place to play video games. The women's area also has a super cool lounge, training room, and coach offices.
The men's program are 2x national champions, 16x ACC champions, and have appeared in the NCAA tournament 43 times. The women's program has won 6 ACC championships and has appeared in the NCAA tournament 25 times.
5. Vanderbilt University
The locker rooms at Vanderbilt University are some of the nicest college basketball locker rooms you will ever see. The areas both include a place to study, a lounge, and a nutrition space. The men's locker room even has a barber shop in it!
The men's team are 3x SEC champions and have 15 NCAA tournament appearances. The women's team are 6x SEC champions and have 27 NCAA tournament appearances.
6. University of Tennessee
The University of Tennessee sure knows how to treat its players. Both men's and women's basketball locker rooms were renovated in 2018 and have a training room, hydrotherapy systems, and a lounge. The renovation was a $5 million project for the Vols.
The Vols have won 5 SEC championships and have appeared in 25 NCAA tournaments.
The Lady Vols have had great success in the college basketball world. The program are 17x SEC champions, 8x NCAA championships, and have appeared in every single NCAA tournament since its start in 1982 (39 appearances).
7. Louisiana State University
Louisiana State University surprised the women's basketball program with brand-new locker rooms after winning the 2023 National Championship. The area is complete with amazing locker space for each player, a lounge, a trophy room, a film room, and top-notch bathroom amenities.
The women's program at LSU has won one national championship, two SEC championships, and have 28 NCAA tournament appearances.
8. Purdue University
Purdue University unveiled its new basketball locker rooms in October of 2023. The new spaces include massive locker spaces, lounges, meeting rooms, sleeping pods, and nutrition stations.
The men's program at Purdue has the most conference tournament wins in the Big Ten, with 25. They have also appeared in 34 NCAA tournaments.
The women's team has won one NCAA championship, nine Big Ten championships, and have appeared in 27 NCAA tournaments.
