Even though college sports are an incredible experience, they are also very time-demanding. While most non-athletes are out late partying on the weekends, college athletes must find other things to do with their time. Maintaining some form of a life is important to maintain good , so here are some fun and simple ways to maintain a as a student-athlete:

1. Take advantage of the clubs and organizations your university offers
I am part of the Athletes in Action Club, but you can join non-sports-related clubs too! Try out a club related to your major or hobbies. They don't meet so often that you won't have the time, but when meetings do happen, it's a great way to socialize outside of your normal routine (and hopefully score some free ).

2. Find a TV show/movie series to watch with your friends.
a series that's release weekly, or just pick a show and a day of the week to get together and watch an episode every week. This is better than the spontaneous or occasionally movie night because a schedule gets you out every week, and prevents you from hanging out and binging an entire show in one night.

3. Try out a new recipe every week
You can try cooking with your roommates or teammates, or join a cooking club on campus. Some college towns even have weekly cooking classes put on by community members! This is a great way to socialize over new food. You have to eat anyway, right?

4. Go to other sporting events at your school.
You've likely made friends with athletes on other teams in the training room or gym, but rarely hangout with them (if ever).
