Mark is the best rowing coach in the nation. He is honest and fair, and if you put in the effort to build a relationship with him, it is beyond valuable. I have learned so much from him, and I am so grateful for the lessons he gave me about rowing and life.

Mark values the team but can be very individually focused at times on certain athletes. It can be hard to know exactly what he wants from an athlete but he is very good at motivating.

Mark is a fantastic coach who is honest and sees potential in his athletes. He is realistic while being positive, but does not have a problem calling issues to attention and assessing them with the team if need be.

He cares a lot about the sport and is very passionate. Sometimes think we tend to lose focus of our end goals and focus too much on little things and the erg performance rather than water performance

Mark cares a lot about the sport of rowing and cares a lot about the team, specifically the top performing end of the team. He can be difficult to communicate with and tends to not see who and what impacts team culture negatively.

Mark is a great coach on the erg, and decent with technical concepts. He focuses too much on top rowers on the team, crwating separation between his 'favorites' and then people on the team who feel unimportant. I'm not saying he doesn't care about rowers but just sometimes shows a lot of unequal attention when we need bottom rowers to be fast too
