As a parent of a D1 athlete, Chas was a large part of the reason my daughter decided to attend her university. Chas was always, and still is, one of the kindest, most caring coaches I have ever met. He is encouraging, supportive, hard-working, personable, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable. He truly cares about his athletes, both on the track, in the classroom, and as students and young adults balancing the many demands they face. When my daughter was struggling with some injuries and personal issues, Chas was always there for her. Even though Chas is now at a different university, my daughter and our family still keep in touch with him. He is an outstanding person and any athlete would be privileged to call him "Coach."

Chas is a well rounded coach who knows what he is doing. Every time I would speak to him, I would be shocked at how positive of an experience it was. Many coaches can be super unavailable and not friendly, and Chas is the exact opposite of that. If something comes up, he is happy to get together and work things through as both a coach and friend. He truly believes in his athletes, which is exactly what you need if you are truly striving to be the best runner and person you can be.

Coach Chaz is one of the few coaches in the NCAA who has perfected the balance of hard work and enjoying life. Being coached by this man is a gift. There's no excuse for the bad reviews on here. It's a bunch of second class athletes who are prone to blaming others for their own failure.

Looks like there’s some disgruntled spam reviews here… I can’t speak to anyone else’s experience, but my daughter ran for Coach Davis and never had anything but good things to say about him. He was always supportive and considerate of her, and helped her through running slumps and academic woes. She loved running with the team, and always said Coach Davis was good about cheering everyone on. I do remember my daughter telling me about a couple athletes on full scholarships that didn’t run over the pandemic before Coach Davis was there and who didn’t want to keep running once Coach Davis arrived…but also didn’t want to give up their full scholarships. It sounds like those runners became very negative when Coach Davis asked them to cooperate with the team once the pandemic was over. Maybe that’s where these post are coming from?
