Best culture that I have ever experienced on a team. Brent truly cares about his swimmers - athletically, academically and as a person. He focuses on ensuring all his swimmers excel. He is accessible and understanding and ensures he recruits the right type of person. He has been successful in winning Big East Championships and his swimmers complete all 4 years swimming and graduate. He is the epitome of what a college coach should be.

I really don’t think that a short paragraph could even do Brent justice. Brent is hands down the best swim coach I’ve ever had. He is so caring, respectful, and understanding. He is great at building a positive team atmosphere. I believe that he is very fair when he makes decisions about relays, lineup, etc. He cares about you as a person AND as an athlete. Brent makes Xavier feel like a family. He can give you a killer set without being a jerk about it. He never looses his cool, and motivates through positivity, not yelling. Brent has made me fall back in love with the sport of swimming, which almost never happens at the NCAA level. I think that if every coach was like Brent MacDonald, the sport of swimming would be a better place.

I really don’t think that a short paragraph could even do Brent justice. Brent is hands down the best swim coach I’ve ever had. He is so caring, respectful, and understanding. He is great at building a positive team atmosphere. I believe that he is very fair when he makes decisions about relays, lineup, etc. He cares about you as a person AND as an athlete. Brent makes Xavier feel like a family. He can give you a killer set without being a jerk about it. He never looses his cool, and motivates through positivity, not yelling. I think that if every coach was like Brent MacDonald, the sport of swimming would be a better place.
