Why You Should Do Community Service as a Team Why You Should Do Community Service as a Team

Community service is not only good for the community and environment, but also teaches great personal and team skills. As a team, doing community service teaches teamwork and putting others before yourself – a valuable skill in sports and beyond. It also is a great bonding experience.

Community service can come in many shapes and sizes. You can help out around campus, volunteer in the off-campus community, or simply support another sports team on campus. It shows you care about your community and the people around you.

Having the experience as a team is especially valuable because it gives you a chance to work together and get to know each other outside of your sport. Talk to your team about upcoming community service opportunities and find time to do it together. There are many resources on campus that will connect you with events and opportunities to help out locally. You can even ask your coach for suggestions and they can participate as well! The teamwork, bonding experience, good feeling, and improved community are all reasons to do community service as a team.
