When you were being recruited, how important were the recruiting trips?
It was really important to me that I was going on a team that had a really great culture.
You were deciding between USC and Michigan. What was the moment that made you decide to go to Michigan?
My entire family went to USC…[Coach] Marcelo came in at the last minute and was like “Why don't you come check us out?”
What is a piece of advice you would give high school athletes for when college coaches come to watch them play?
Don't put too much pressure on yourself by thinking that it's going to be a singular moment, game, or practice that will be the reason that a college coach recruits you.
When did you know that you wanted to play collegiate water polo?
If you have even the slightest opportunity to be a collegiate athlete, whether it's DI, DII, or DIII, I think you are going to have an elevated and better experience than the normal student at any university.
How do you keep on top of your academics while traveling?
I'm not going to lie, it was a struggle. Especially my freshman year, it was hard to adapt to. But, there is no growth without you challenging yourself.
