Monday marks the start line of the week and plenty of us are already thinking ahead to our Friday night finish line. But daydreaming about what's to come can rob us of perspective today and prevent us from giving the week our all. Or worse–letting up right before we hit that finish line.

Athletes of all sports have probably heard the phrase “Run through the line!” during practices or competitions. The sentiment is simple–you give your all until the job is completely done or suffer the consequences. For a track runner, giving 99% and slowing down just before you hit the line can sometimes mean throwing the race. For a football player, dropping the ball at the one yard line can be the difference between scoring a touchdown or losing the game.
Case in point: There was nothing John Heisman, the Hall of Fame coach who the Heisman Trophy is named after, despised more than fumbles. While many tend to think of DeSean Jackson's infamous Monday Night Football fumble on the one-yard-line, college football players repeatedly make this mistake. Whether a premature celebration or a mental lapse, these costly fumbles serve as a powerful lesson for college athletes.
So this week, run through the line. You'll have the whole weekend to rest after your work is done on Friday.
