Take it from someone who gets performance anxiety. The mind is a powerful thing. It can lead you to think positive and negative thoughts about yourself. The question is, which thinking are you doing before a game or practice? Positive or negative thinking? No matter which you choose, you're engaging in a self-fulfilling prophecy: you can only achieve what you believe is possible.
Confidence is the key to success. The more confident you are in your playing and you, as an athlete, the greater your outcome. Be confident in yourself (even if you have to fake it sometimes). You're an athlete–you're capable of more than you think.
