James Baxter is an international student from Scotland who is a senior on the NAIA soccer team at Columbia College. James spent the first two years of his collegiate career at East Central College of the NJCAA. Here is what an average day looks like for James, who is also a business administration major.
6:30 AM – Wake up
James wakes up and makes breakfast before sitting down to check his calendar and plan out what work he needs to complete that day.
8 AM – Work time!
It's a busy start to the day for James, who works in the human resources department on campus.
10 AM – Class #1
The academic day gets underway with Accounting II.
11 AM – Class #2
Business Information Systems is James' second class of the day.
Noon – Class #3
James concludes his academic day with microeconomics.
1 PM – Lunchtime
After a busy morning, James takes a break to eat lunch with his teammates in the school cafeteria.
2 PM – Back to Work
James returns to the HR department to clock in another couple of hours.
4 PM – Weight Training
The day starts to get more intense as James joins up with his teammates for a group lift.
5 PM – Dinnertime
Post-lift, it is time to refuel the body after an intense session and fuel up ahead of the next session. James returns to the school cafeteria to do so.
7:15 PM – Team Practice
James regularly does prehab on past injuries before training, such as placing a heat pack on problem areas and foam rolling. The active day culminates with a team training session consisting of various tactical and technical drills.
9 PM – Head Home
James heads home and refuels by heating up the food he prepared earlier before completing any further work due.
10 PM – Free time
After a hectic day, James likes to relax by watching a movie or TV show.
11 PM – Bedtime
Lights out! It's time for James to recharge his batteries before another busy day tomorrow.
