Chloe Ricketts recently made history, becoming the youngest player to join the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). A 15-year-old high school sophomore, Ricketts has already made her mark on the world of professional soccer by signing a three-year contract with the Washington Spirit. Not only that, but Ricketts has won the Michigan State Cup and the National League Great Lakes Conference…on boys teams.

Ricketts became the youngest NWSL signing by only three days, as Olivia Moultrie of the Portland Thorns signed after filing a lawsuit against the NWSL, which had a rule in place that players had to be at least 18-years-old to sign a contract. Moultrie paved the way for Rickets to sign to the league, and now Ricketts will continue to break barriers for any other young athletes who are good enough to go pro–now, young players only need the opportunity to achieve great things.
