The is over and the took over the to win the series 4-1. Watching these players on baseball's biggest stage makes it hard to picture that they were ever college baseball players. However, many of them were! Here is a list of eight World Series players who have also played college baseball:

Arizona Diamondbacks

1. Evan Longoria: Rio Hondo/Long Beach State

Third baseman didn't receive a single offer while he was in high school. He ended up attending Rio Hondo Community College during his freshman year until Long Beach State University offered him a scholarship. In his time at the Beach, Longoria was awarded the Big West Co-Player of the Year, Golden Spikes Award Finalist, 2x All-Big West, and second-team All-American. Evan Longoria was the third overall pick in the 2006 Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.

2. Jake McCarthy: UVA

played two seasons at the University of Virginia. In both seasons, McCarthy suffered injuries that forced him to miss a majority of both seasons. Before his second injury, McCarthy earned second-team All-American preseason honors, was listed on the Golden Spikes Award Watch List, batted .329, and was a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases. Jake McCarthy was the 39th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. 

3. Zac Gallen: North Carolina

played two seasons at the University of North Carolina. The right-handed pitcher earned second-team All-ACC, struck out 74 batters in 14 games, and held opponents to a .231 batting average. Zac Gallen was the 106th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.

4. Christian Walker: South Carolina

Christian Walker played three seasons at the University of South Carolina. The first baseman was a Freshman All-American, third-team All-American, second-team All-SEC, second-team All-American, and first-team All-SEC. He was also a 2x Champion. Christian Walker was the 132nd pick in the 2012 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles.

5. Mitch Garver: New Mexico

Mitch Garver played all four seasons at the University of New Mexico. As a catcher, Garver was the 2x Co-Mountain West Player of the Year, 2x Johnny Bench Award finalist, a second-team All-American, and started an incredible 181 games in a row. Mitch Garver was the 260th overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins. 

6. Marcus Semien: UC Berkeley

played three seasons at the University of California Berkeley. Semien was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention and tallied 63 hits in 61 games during his last season with the Golden Bears. Marcus Semien was the 201st overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox. 

7. Josh Jung: Texas Tech

Josh Jung played three seasons at Texas Tech University. The infielder was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, All-Big 12 second-team, Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American, 2x second-team All-American, 2x Dick Howser Trophy & Golden Spikes Award semifinalist, 2x first-team All-Big 12, Big 12 Co-Player of the Year, and the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award winner. After his impressive three seasons, Josh Jung was the eighth overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers.

8. Nathaniel Lowe: Mercer/St. Johns River State/Mississippi State

played at three different colleges in three years before heading to the Major Leagues. In 2014, Lowe played for Mercer University before transferring to St. Johns River State College where he was named an NJCAA first-team All-American. His last college was Mississippi State University where he started all 63 games and had a .348 batting average. Nathaniel Lowe was the 390th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
