Old Complex Gets The Job Done
The sports center is very outdated. However, Skidmore is currently in the process of updating and renovating the space. COVID set this project but it has been a long time coming. Fortunate to play a sport that is supported by the facility. Many teams have to drive off-campus to practice and home competitions.

The Skidmore athletics facility is a great representation of how athletes are viewed on campus; second tier. Nothing has been updated in over a decade. Locker rooms are tiny and athletes don’t get locker room access when they’re out of season, even though their training and playing their sport all year round. Furthermore, when other teams visit to play games at Skidmore, they are given the general women’s or men’s locker room to be in. It was always embarrassing for us.

So Skidmore really fails in the athletic facility department. For such a high academic school the "temporary" facility that they built 10+ years ago is absolutely laughable. It really sets us behind a lot of schools in the Liberty League or NESCAC. Athletes are not a priority and that shows on a daily basis, but worse than that their regular gym and facilities for all students are awful. Indoor tennis is off campus which is to note. Outdoor courts are nice though, those well done.
