It’s not worth it. Swim for a coach who cares for all swimmers not just a top team.

Wayne state swimming was a complete different experience than I thought it would be. They preach bonding and make it appear as if everyone is kind and supportive but that is the opposite of reality. He picks his favorites and everyone else is nothing to him. He doesn’t even try to act like he cares about the slower swimmers. Workouts were bearable but results were not worth swimming under him. He preaches results but majority of people I swam with never beat their best times from high school. He’s very overrated.

Absolutely horrible coach. If you’re not the best swimmer he wants nothing to do with you. Team is also extremely clique. Saves all the money for foreigners and none for the average swimmers. Foreigners get food, school, housing paid for while other swimmers get nothing. Incredibly mean and crude. Picks a swimmer to pick on and will yell at them constantly. If you’re not a top scoring swimmer, don’t swim here save yourself your mental health, I wish I did.
