Played under Shef at Hendrix and he was the best coach I ever had. Turned our team around from being 12-27 to 32-11 (something like that). Knows how to get the most out of his players. Pushed us to be the best versions of ourselves on and off the field. Coaches hard, but that is what you need out of a college coach. If you want to be cradled go play for someone else, or just don’t play college baseball because I don’t know what you expect from a college coach. HE CARES! Unbelievable grateful for the opportunity I had to finish my college career under him. Thankful for him everyday.

If you were so good as a coach and human being why aren’t you still at Hendrix?

I worked with Sean at Hendrix. Everything at Hendrix is monitored incredibly close by the AD and assistant AD. Baseball had 3hr practices which is pretty standard. I often helped pick up food between games- if it was Subway, there were 5-7 platters of sandwiches or 10 loaves of break for PB&J. The students at Hendrix come from affluent backgrounds. Everything at Hendrix is done with CC, so that is simply not possible. Sean taught me several different fundraising ideas which were tremendous. To access those fundraising funds, the AD and assistant AD have to sign off and the receipts need to be turned in. Sean is an old school coach which does not mesh with the affluent kids we get at Hendrix. 15 kids came to the AD and said they were forced to sign it. It ended up being 35 kids for Sean and 10 against. Our AD was in tears when she told the rest of the coaches about what happened. That should tell you what she thinks of Sean. He has an incredible work ethic, made everyone in the office smile, has a fiery personality. I am so thankful to have met and worked with Sean.

Sheff met me in the cages at 6am after getting back from a road trip at midnight to throw to me in the cage, the week after his Mom died. He is an amazing hitting coach and an amazing person. There was always more than enough food in between games. We either had PB & J's or Subways platters. Sheff outworked everyone and spent his own money on things to help the program. We never had a driveline arm development program before Sheff- He paid out of pocket thousands of dollars for driveline balls and wrist weights. He bought two machines for the program. Sheff is incredibly straight forward- he is up front and honest with everyone. The kids I played with at Hendrix were and extension of travel ball. Sheff ran a tight ship and the kids at Hendrix and not used to not getting their way. Sheff is an amazing coach and person.

Sheff gave us a talk about all of the options Hendrix offered to help with mental health and then talked to us about how is Dad worked overtime while Sheff's Mom and Brother had cancer- Then said "the world will not always care about your mental health, use the resources the school offers while you have them." There was always enough food- Sheff made specific trips to get food for kids who had specific food allergies. Sheff continuously spent his own money on recruiting trips. Hendrix has had back to back good seasons because of the culture sheff created and the kids he recruited. All of the top players still there keep in constant contact with him. Sheff is the one who instilled a Bible study into the program. He never "Intimidated a player." He is not afraid to chew some butt when necessary. Funny part about all of this is the kids who thought Sheff was so bad all ended up quitting with the new coach. The only thing Sheff did wrong was coach Private school kids like tough Juco kids. He pushes you hard so you can see how much you can do. Sheff- Thank you for all that you did for me!

I think people just don’t understand what happened at Hendrix College. The fact that you’re own players. The players that you recruited made a letter to have you removed speaks volumes of yourself as a coach. Everyone but 4 players signed on a roster of 45. Does not know much as a hitting coach. Overworked players, intimidated players and is quoted in saying mental health is bullshit. Quoted in saying If you want development, develop yourself. Wouldn’t buy enough food for players in-between games. Would not spend money on the budget so he could use the money for personal use. Kept players on the field for 8 hours plus. Would not meet with assistant coaches. Ran a program into the ground. Best thing to happen was a new coach at Hendrix. Back to back great seasons now. Do your research before giving this man responsibility with your kids and program.

Sheff is the best coach I have ever played for. He challenges you. He helps you understand how your discipline and attention to detail on the field will translate to off the field. He will test you mentally because he wants you to see how much you can do and what you can become. My favorite Coach Sheff line is greatness does not happen with rainbows and sunshine. It happens with hard work and overcoming failure.

Since Sean has taken over our program, we have seen an incredible improvements. He is a positive person who knows how to motivate. He has a special heart and we are incredibly thankful to have him as our coach. My son cannot wait to go to practice and games and constantly talks about coach Sean. He is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met and gets the most out of every player.

Dedicated to players very fair in his decisions

Since Sean has taken over our program, it has gone to the next level. He is dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable. He brings incredible energy every single day to each age level. I have never met anyone with such love and passion for coaching.

The first phone call after I was drafted was from Sheff. No one has ever pushed me as hard as he did. I took ground ball after ground ball, swing after swing. He taught me that the battle was between me and myself. I the first phone call I made after being called up to the big leagues was to my parents and the second was to Sheff. He will show you what you are made of. He believes in you, pushes you and makes you mentally strong. Sheff, you mean the world to my family and I. Thank you!

Without a doubt, the best coach my son has ever played for. Coach McSheffery works incredibly hard for his players. He demands the most out of them. He is organized, enthusiastic, motivating and will tell it how it is. The discipline and toughness my son learned in Coach McSheffery's program has helped him in many other aspects of his life.

One of my favorite coaches of all time, was always there for all the players and always had a plan for each player every day. A players coach that cared for all players and was very knowledgeable in the baseball field and always bounced new ideas off the players. Would recommend for any player going to play for a program that he runs.

Sheff helped me become a better person and player. He was on my butt about my academics. When I stepped away from baseball to focus more on football, other coaches were mad, but Sheff had this huge smile on his face and was so happy for me. He knew my dream was to play D1 football and when I got my scholarship offer he was so proud of me. Thank you for always believing in me Sheff.

Since Sean has taken over our program, we have seen incredible improvements in every player. He is dedicated, caring and incredibly passionate. He runs every practice from 8U to 17U. His love and passion for coaching has transformed our program. We are so thankful for him!

The BEST!! FIU- Conference Championship, Hendrix- Conference Championship (1st in school history), Chipola- Conference Championship. Coach is the best. He will bring out the best in anyone. If you cannot handle playing for him, you are soft!! The first call I got after my son was born was from Coach. His exact words were, "Remember how nervous you were your freshman year? All you needed was a little confidence and you became one of the best. Smile because you are going to make the best Father." That brought tears to my eyes.

Sheff is the man!! I got to know him at FIU and I have never seen anyone work so hard in my life. He makes everyone smile, always lends a helping hand and is incredibly selfless. He brought players with him to work at the hospital, assisted with soup kitchens, always saw him at church on Sunday and was the first one in the office and last one to leave everyday. You will not find someone with a bigger heart than my man Sheff! This guy who is trolling him is a loser. He walks around and tries to look tough. He is a glorified hall monitor who acts like GI Joe. To sum up Sheff in one story, he wrote a letter of recommendation for me the night he found out his Mom was going into hospice. He was broken on the phone when I talked to him and he said that no one deserved this job more than me.

If it was not for Coach McSheffery I would not be playing professional baseball. He pushed me harder than anyone to believe in myself and to work. He tells you the cold hard truth! You will either love it or hate it, but he will tell you the truth. There are so many days that I think back to all he did for me. He is old school and no nonsense. I love Coach. Every year he calls me to talk about my family, makes sure I am reading my Bible and always asks if I pray to be blessed or be a blessing. Who ever this guy is below me has no idea the amount of people Coach has impacted. Bad parents are ruining good coaches and teachers.

We love Coach Sean! My boys took lessons from him at FIU. He helped their development so much as players and as kids. The guy below is a disgrace. We all know who he is. He sent, "anonymous" Letters to Chipola, he writes horrible stuff on here, yet his son storms off the field of a college game like a 2 year old. Imagine having such a pathetic life that you have to troll a college baseball coach that your son has not played for in two years. He needs to focus less on Coach Sean and more on being a parent. He can write whatever he wants, Coach Sean has an army of people who love him and would do anything for him. He has an amazing heart and works to bring out the best in every player. We are so grateful to have met Sean. To set the record straight for this idiot- Coach Sheff moved home from Chipola to be closer to his girlfriend who he is now engaged to. Was offered a better job at the end of the summer with the Kingfish. He puts everybody before himself. Once again to the guy below, we all know who you are. Go GET A LIFE!

Coach Sean McSheffery is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He is not the kind of person you want your son or daughter close to. He has a hard time keeping a job. He was fired from FIU, fired from Hendrix College, fired from Chipola and fired by the Kenosha Kingfish. That should tell you all you need to know. He went from coaching in the pros, to coaching D3, to coaching junior college, to coaching summer ball, to coaching in a recreational city league. Does that sound like the career trajectory of a winner?

Coach Sheff is more than a coach. He truly cares about the athletes on and off the field. He has made a difference in so many peoples lives. I could not recommend him more.

Our first impression of Coach Scheff was very on point with what his expectations were for our son and after our first meeting we couldn’t stop talking about how his character and passion was what we wanted for our son. He was at sometimes intense on getting the most out of our son and pushing him to be a better ball player. You can say he was an old school teacher and coach. The life lessons he taught will be with my son for the rest of his life. He would be good for any program needing a coach who has the experience and knowledge of getting the best out of his players. He is a family man who always checks on our son even years after he played for him which shows he truly cares for his players. If we had another son we would follow and commit to him in a heartbeat.

Coach Sheff is more than a coach. Not only does he teach the game of baseball, he teaches the game of life. Sheff has made it a priority to keep in touch with our son and continues to help him grow on the field, in the classroom and most importantly as a man. We are forever grateful for all that Coach Sheff has done for us and our son. He continues to encourage and challenge him to be a better player and human.

My son had the honor of playing for Coach Sheff for 3 years. Coach Sheff would take a call in the middle of the night from a parent or a player he cared that much. He is a great Coach & will bring the best out of any player willing to put the work in. He is honest, direct, he cares about his players on & off the field. I envy any college or player that gets an opportunity to play baseball with Sheff. My son still calls Coach Sheff weekly!
