It’s pretty clear that all of the reviews for this coach are coming from the same disgruntled parent.

The biggest mistake you daughter could make would be to commit to play lacrosse for KT. The sport your daughter loves and has spent countless hours perfecting will turn into a sport your daughter hates in little over a year. Current starters that should have transferred out at the end of last year are now just playing out the season hoping that it would end tomorrow. This is how it will go for most of the freshman class if you decide to stay with Colgate and KT. Freshman year your daughter will be put on a pedestal and praised as the saviors of the program. Fall ball will come around and all of the new players will get a majority of the playing time with praise and admiration. The parents and players will be happy. This for most will be the last time they will say that. From that point on if your daughter is producing on the field, you will have at least one good season until your daughter has an injury. Kids know this and play hurt with said injury not disclosing it. While this is going on KT is busy trying to flush the toilet on the sophomores and upper-class to see who she can get to quit so she has more $ to offer her next class coming in. Year two for your daughter the whole cycle starts all over. New freshman will get all of the playing time and the shining stars will be forced into the lineup. KT will stick with this lineup to prove to everyone what a great recruiter she is. If your daughter was a producer as a freshman and remains a starter the competition will now put their best defender on her and shut her down. KT is not smart enough to as a coach to recognize this and will do absolutely nothing to help get your daughter open. She will stay with her magnificent offense of pass the ball around for 70 seconds with each player trying to go 1v1. When that doesn't work a desperation shot is taken as the shot clock expires, essentially an unrecorded turnover. 2024 1-10 (maybe 1 more win in their future) 2023 4-11 2022 6-12 2021 5-6 2020 3-4 (covid) Zero coaching, horrible winning percentage, only 2 four-year recruits of hers graduating. By the time your daughter reaches her junior and senior year you will realize she is stuck at Colgate playing for KT miserable and hating her decision to play there. Don't take my word for it have your daughter ask juniors and seniors. decommit while you can! Freshman athletes hit the transfer portal and run as fast as you can. Juniors and seniors get the AD on speed dial and start campaigning to have KT fired. don't get trapped like many have. Colgate is a wonderful school that your daughter will not want to leave after you finish your sophomore year. DON'T GET STUCK IN THE CESSPOOL THAT KT HAS CREATED!

Coach Taylor is a failure! She might have”changed” since the abuse allegations but in actuality she is still the same Coach. She wanted to change the culture and program so badly that she simply damaged herself and her reputation, as the saying goes “your reputation is all you have” and she has failed, These young impressionable young athletes all know her motive; tear them down, thinking they will play harder! But that tactic doesn’t work anymore! Exit the program, give these young women a positive experience. Your time is UP! Future commits reach out don’t go to COLGATE if Kathy Taylor is there!

Weight shames girls. Makes them play through injury. 20 girls have left under her leadership. Team is not competitive at all. And it’s getting worse. Zero depth. Ended the season with maybe 23 on roster. Literally ran out of goalies last year. Asked an attacker to play goalie when she had never done it. This is not D1 lax. Not a serious program. Colgate is a great University but this is a Mickey Mouse lax program. Do NOT let your daughter play here unless they change the head coach. Assistants are good but they have no role. Recruiting is in the toilet and will get worse. Likely wont win a single game this year. Decent chance by the time spring rolls around they can’t field a team because of all the quits.

How long can Colgate continue to keep this coach? Every contact she has with players negatively affects them. She destroys their love of the sport and breaks them down emotionally and physically. Colgate University's reputation is one of intellectual rigor with world class professors. The current women's lacrosse coaching situation is the antithesis of those standards. The girls on this team deserve so much better.

Colgate and Kathy Taylor's record speak for itself. In the 4yrs she has been the coach, she hasn't done anything significant but "bust the morale ", where are the alumni? where are the seniors ? If you look at the Mens Lax program they have 11/12 seniors , the message is loud, yet not CLEAR on Colgates behalf. Make the positive change for the reputation of the school.

The current news articles about Coach Kathy Taylor barely scrim the surface of the abuse that has gone on unchecked at Colgate during Coach Taylor’s tenure. Many players former and present are scarred to speak up for fear of retribution and/or because they are still attempting to recover from the abuse they suffered. If you are being recruited to play at Colgate please understand that no one is safe and seriously consider talking to current and former players to understand the culture of the program. The brave women who came forward have nothing to gain and are simply hoping to protect other young women from abusive treatment at the hands of the current coaching staff.

Narcissist. Manipulative. Abusive. Liar. Deteriorates young women. She feeds off fear. This monster should never be allowed to coach or lead any group. She is a danger to all. I’ve endured playing under kathy Taylor’s “leadership” and i still to this day am seeking help to work through these mental and physical scars.

There are many ratings here on Coach Taylor and the way Colgate has handled this investigation - One of the primary reasons college athletic departments struggle to protect athletes is simple: the industry lacks a clear definition what constitutes abusive coaching,especially when it involves emotional instead of physical (although in Colgates situation it has been physcial ) an athlete wont be able to run again due to Coach Taylor. In a workplace this behavior or mental abuse won't stand a chance., nevermind physical. - Researchers have found belitting, humiliating (fat shamming ) , isolating, and rejecting (which she does very well ) are forms of ABUSE. So why protect her ? Can't fire her for Cause ? Effects of abusive relationships have a high level of control and have a wide range of damaging mental health , anxiety and depression. Colgate wake up and do the right thing for once !

Coach Taylor is a legend in her own mind! Terrible leader not inspiring, don’t be associated with this he heinous women she knows what she has done , so do her other coaches . These young women are looking for a leader not an insecure tyrsnt

The Central New York lacrosse world continues to protect this heinous women. Colgate takes no responsibility and allows this abusive,uncaring, Uninspirational women to remain. The former AD -Nicki Moore made mention to parents that “firing a women coach is harder because their chances of gaining future employment is difficult “ This is what your daughters will be playing for? Colgate this fine institution are cowards !

Kathy Taylor dwells in the abyss and void of human emotions. She is a narcissist and totally incapable of inspiring the masses. This woman lacks the basic intelligence to coach a gym class much less a college lax program. And make no mistake, the Colgate president & his administration as well as their various board members all know this, as did their last AD, who was recently & quietly transferred to Cornell. The IWLCA should be embarrassed that Kathy Taylor was ever their President at one time. One of main problems is that colleges are passing her around to get rid of her but no one is talking or holding her accountable. So Kathy Taylor’s sins have remained hidden. Shame on every school who has employed her and kept quiet. PARENTS - LISTEN! DO NOT ALLOW YOUR KIDS TO GO TO COLGATE OR TO PLAY FOR KATHY TAYLOR. This is not about playing time - many abused girls on the Colgate team who spoke up played all the time! Be warned : Kathy Taylor will ruin your child if given the opportunity. I cannot say this with more conviction - she is a damaged & dangerous person. An independent investigation uncovered very egregious behavior this past year which included gay shaming, body shaming, physical and mental neglect & abuse, several lifelong injuries and serious bullying. Despite the verified abuse, Colgate retained Kathy Taylor prioritizing their image over the safety and well-being of their students. They are equally disgusting and complicit in the abuse of their student athletes.

Coach Taylor could of changes many young womens lives for the better, she is their leader, but wanted to change the program SO DRASTICALLY and Colgate allowed it that she “broke” the women mentally and physically.. heed our warning don’t go to COLGATE

So many reported instances of student athletes suffering abuse that an investigation was conducted and measures implemented to control her behaviour!! Colgate is an amazing university and I suspect that they will do the right thing and remove her.

Does not value mental health of athletes. Will run athletes into the ground.
