Chris Downs is somewhat knowledgeable as a coach, however, he is a very fake person. He treats his players very poorly, unless you are one of his favourites, then he lets you off with anything. Downs likes to play mind games with his players and it negatively impacts the mental health of some people. When you first meet Downs, he comes off as a very nice, personable, guy. But this is all a front. Unfortunately, he has been the coach at SLU for 20+ years and will not be leaving anytime soon.

Can get the best out of a lot of players, but is so honest sometimes that some good players that need development end up losing interest. But hey, if the only thing on the negative side is being too upfront with someone, I believe that's a good thing.
