I have ran for him for 2 years now and he is an amazing coach. He's very passionate about what he does and has taught me so much to become an all around better athlete.

He always encourages his athletes to give their best in everything they do. If he comes off tough, it's because he cares. He wants the best for his athletes and isn't going to take anything less. He's honorable, admirable, and a pleasure to play for. I am proud to be his athlete.

He is out of touch with his athletes and plays favorites. If you are not a favorite he does not care about you. If you are hurt he does not care about you. You CANNOT get a hold of him. He never replies. If you are not his event group, he does not ask you about your training or how you performed. He does not motivate or engage you.

Coach Valmon means well but at times his focus on putting certain athletes in the best position to do well hinders the team on a much higher magnitude than I think he notices. He can be a bit intimidating to approach after hearing what he has done to others. Overall, to me he is a nice person to me.

Coach Valmon is a knowledgeable and motivating coach. If he sees you putting in the effort and busting your butt to achieve your goals he will do everything possible to make sure that you have the tools to reach those goals.

Spends little time developing athletes that don't come in already at the top of their event. As such, he plays the recruiting game pretty hard which limits his already inaccessible schedule. I can't say much about his coaching style as I wasn't in his event group, but you only need to see the past decade of lackluster results to shape an opinion.

He is definitely a very motivational person, and makes me want to work harder. I don't mind him being hands-off at times, because that's what our event coaches are there for. I talk to my event coach almost everyday, but Coach V always talks to me before meets to make sure I'm set, and I think that at the end of the day, he keeps tabs on everyone
