Braxton Burmeister is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech University, who has had a long journey as a college quarterback. A 4-star recruit out of high school, Burmeister originally committed to the University of Arizona before switching his commitment to the University of Oregon. In his first two seasons at Oregon, Burmeister was battling for a starting spot and was not putting up the numbers he needed to become the starter. After only scoring five total touchdowns and throwing six interceptions in those first two seasons, he entered the transfer portal.

Burmeister finally found his home at Virginia Tech during the 2019 season but was redshirted due to transferring late which made him ineligible to play. But he didn't let that stop him–the following season, Burmeister won three out of four games as the starting quarterback for the Hokies. His performance may have improved since his time at Oregon, but he was still not putting up the results he and everyone else expected…but that was temporary
During Burmeister's senior year, he was named the starter for the entire 2021 season. With an 8-7 record, Virginia Tech still did not have the year they hoped for, but Burmeister put up his best numbers yet and was a very exciting player to watch in the ACC. He finished off his career at Virginia Tech and now lives in his hometown of San Diego, California.
