Coach Reno is a former player player for Worcester State, 1993-1996. He was hired as the Joel E. Smilow head coach of the Yale Bulldogs football in January 2012. Before his coaching career started at he spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Harvard. Unless you have been living under a rock you probably already know that Yale claimed the 2017 title. Go ! Coach Reno and his team completed their 2017 with a 6-1 record. It was their first since 2006. This win is the Bulldog's 15th title. Coach Reno: Toughness.

2aDays: What is the best way for a recruit to get on your radar?

Coach Reno: Film, Transcript and HS Coach evaluation.

2aDays: When should an athlete contact you, what is the best way? (age, grade, time of year, email, phone, or other)

Coach Reno: End of Soph year.

2aDays: What are your expectations for incoming players in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the field?

Coach Reno: We want guys who love football and are intentional in all they do.

2aDays: What are the do's and don'ts of being recruited?

Coach Reno: Guys who BCD (Blame, Complain, Distrust).

2aDays: What is the best advice you can offer a recruit?

Coach Reno: Take care of your 20 sq feet and close the circle.

2aDays: What jumps out to you when reviewing a recruit's highlight tape?

Coach Reno: Speed and power.

2aDays: What are the main do's and don'ts for a recruit's highlight tape?

Coach Reno: Too short and not enough plays.

2aDays: When do you recommend recruits put together and share their highlight reels? Is it best to make their highlight reel during offseason, in the middle of the season, or after each game?

Coach Reno: Any.

2aDays: What advice do you have for recruits who get turned down by their dream schools? What are their options if they don't gain the recruiting attention they desire?

Coach Reno: Control what you can control.

2aDays: How big a factor is social media when recruiting players? What advice do you have for athletes regarding social media?

Coach Reno: Realize everything you put on SM is an evaluation.
