Tim Murphy has been the head coach for Harvard University football for the last 26 years. He has run up an impressive record, as he is the program's all-time winningest coach and has had more wins than any prior Harvard football coaches except one. In addition to coaching at Harvard, Murphy has coached at colleges such as Boston University, Lafayette, the University of Maine, the University of Cincinnati, and Brown. He began his coaching career in 1979, promptly post-graduation from college, and has extensive experience both as a head and assistant coach. Here are a few more of Coach Murphy's accolades:

- 2004, was the American Football Monthly Division I-AA National Coach of the year
- honored as a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Award for the top FCS coach nationally in 2001, '04 and '11

- His teams have had Ivy titles in six of the last 12 and eight of the last 18 years
