There have been countless examples of athletes who did not have the accolades or any sort of prestige coming out of high school or college making it big in their respective sports. Athletes who fall into this “underdog” category are characterized by playing with a chip on their shoulder and blocking out the criticism surrounding them. Steph Curry fits this bill. As a three-star recruit, Curry ended up on the Davidson University basketball team–not the start you'd think of when you consider Curry's current career success. But he didn't start making statements in the NBA–Curry led the Wildcats to the Elite Eight in his senior 2008 season, stunning fans and busting brackets everywhere.
