Kobe Bryant is a prime example of hard work and perseverance which he made manifest through his iconic “Mamba Mentality.” All aspects of sports require perseverance–from the recruiting stage to competing in actual games. A strong work ethic opens doors to new opportunities and serves as a path to reaching your full potential. Adversity and failure are inevitable, but they do not define who you are. How athletes respond to hardship speaks volumes to their character and is what separates them from their competition.

So if you're an athlete at any level, remember to never give up, whether that applies to your recruiting process, your skill set, or even your academics. The only way to fail is to throw in the towel.
