“How you do anything is how you do everything.”
I think about this quote any time I want to slack off–if you half ass anything, you will be more inclined to half ass other things, if not everything. Do you slack in the weight room? You'll probably slack on your nutrition as well. Do you not hustle during drills? You'll likely slog through games, too.

Luckily for athletes, the game goes if you put maximum effort into everything you do. If you give your all at practice, you'll probably go all out during competitions. If you put forth effort in the classroom, you're more likely to try your hardest to be successful on the field as well.
The moral of the story: remember that everything you do counts and your effort level has a ripple effect. If you keep that in mind, you will be more inclined to give your all to everything you do.
