Giving 110% is a mindset, and for athletes, giving your all feels like a must. What this means is that you give the maximum amount of effort possible in anything you do. This is something my dad has told me ever since I was a kid growing up, and plenty of coaches tell athletes to give 110% at practice, games, and everything in between.

But is it possible to give 110%? Technically, no. The most we can give is 100% and even then, we need rest and recovery sometimes. The key is knowing the proper timing–when to go all-out and when to throttle back. It's tempting to sprint all the time as a busy athlete, but finding balance is much more important than trying to give it your all 24/7.
