Showcases are a great way to get your name out there and show coaches what you can do… but not everyone has their dream showcase where they perform at their best every time. So how do you deal with a showcase gone wrong? Here are two tips to bounce back after a lackluster performance so you don't derail your recruiting process.

Be Realistic
Unless you are a senior with no offers and this was your last chance to impress at a showcase, one bad showcase isn't going to mean much. In fact, the younger you are, the less it means–you are going to have more chances to be recruited and seen and you can always attend a camp held by the school you are interested in to show what you can do. So mentally, you shouldn't let it get to your head at all and should be ready to jump right back in.

Move On
As for your response to the bad showcase, just keep doing what you are doing. Keep working hard, keep enjoying the game and keep showing up. Now, if the bad form continues, then you can try to change things up but one bad showcase is not a reason to panic. Off the field, keep doing the same thing recruiting-wise; reaching out to coaches and sending out highlight reels.
At the end of the day, one bad showcase is not the end of the world. There are still plenty of opportunities to get recruited and you can get back to playing at your best as long as you don't let it get to you mentally. So shake it off and keep working hard!
