Minneapolis, MN Native Theo John has quickly established himself as one of the dominant defensive players and center's in the Big East. In his freshman year, Theo was named the team's Co-Most Improved Player and his improvements have extended long past his rookie season. Theo is the Big East's block leader this season averaging 2.4 Blocks per game, with a career-high of seven that came earlier this year against Buffalo. Theo is stepping up as a regular starter for the team and his dominant physical performance has helped to propel Marquette Men's Basketball to a national #11 ranking as of February 18, 2019.
2019-20 Season Notes (Jr.):
Appeared in all 30 games, earning 29 starting assignments
Finished third in the BIG EAST in blocked shots (1.8 bpg.)
Blocked two-or-more shots in 13 games
Posted seven points, eight rebounds, and a career-best eight blocks in the season opener against Loyola Maryland (Dec. 5)
Scored a season-high 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds in just 17 minutes against Jacksonville (Dec. 4)
Scored season-high 12 points against Central Arkansas (Dec. 28)
Blocked a total of 13 shots in back-to-back games against St. John's
Posted first double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds versus Creighton (Feb. 18)
Finished with eight points and 10 boards against Seton Hall (Feb. 29) Earned his third letter.
