When to Start Your Recruiting Process
It’s never too early or too late to start taking action when it comes to the recruiting process. Athletes naturally take initiative, and the mindset to approach recruiting should be no different.
There are two ways to look at starting the recruiting process:
- It’s never too early. Most athletes will start their recruiting process around freshman year of high school. Some start even earlier. Having said that, keep in mind certain restrictions are in place to prevent young athletes from engaging with coaches too early.
- Already past freshman year? No problem! While it’s always good to start as early as possible, some athletes get recruited all the way up until their senior year! If you feel you do need more time, there are many reasons to take a gap year as well.
