Playing a sport at the college level is a major commitment–in addition to making time for practice and games, there's much more that goes into it to ensure that you're playing at peak potential come game time. Today, we break down Ackendorf's daily routine as a former DIII volleyball player for SUNY Fredonia.

5:45-6:00 AM

Christie likes to start her day early by waking up nice and early at 5:45, which gives her plenty of time to get ready for practice.

6:00-7:00 AM

From 6:00-7:00, Christie makes and prepares herself for the rest of the day before she heads out to her daily practice.

7:00-9:20 AM

At this point, Christie is up and moving. At around 6:45 she heads over to the practice facility to prepare for her daily team practice. This is her main time for practice on a typical day, and runs to around 9:20.

9:40-11:00 AM

After a hard practice, Christie has 20 minutes to make it to her first class of the day, abnormal psychology. This class ends at 11:00 AM.

11:00 AM-12:00 PM

Leaving right from her abnormal psychology class, Christie attends her meeting for , which is a nonprofit community with the goal to change the lives of others through entrepreneurship.

12:00-2:00 PM

After the club meeting, Christie has about two hours to do what she wants after a busy morning. This time is usually spent going home, making lunch and showering. If she has spare time after finishing all this, she will spend the remainder of the time working on homework assignments or studying.

2:40-4:00 PM

Christie then goes to her second class of the day, which is positive psychology. This class runs until 4:00 PM.

5:00-9:00 PM

Now that Christie's daily responsibilities are pretty much done, it's time for her to complete everything she needs to do. From 5:00-9:00, Christie first makes dinner to re-energize herself for evening activities. After this, the remaining time is devoted to finishing all assignments and studying she has to do for the week.

9:00-11:00 PM

When Christie feels like she's completed all she needs to for the day, she decides to pack it up for the night and takes a couple of hours to unwind and focus on her . This will either involve watching TV, hanging out with friends, or just taking time to herself after a long day of work.

11:30 PM

In order to ensure that she can wake up the next day and be just as energized, Christie makes sure to go to bed no later than 11:30.
