In the highly competitive world of collegiate soccer, gaining exposure through is crucial throughout the recruiting process. The earlier you start, the better. Attending prestigious events and camps is a fantastic way to get noticed by a wide range of college coaches while giving you experience against your future competitors.

ID Camps

One of the best ways to get in front of college coaches is to attend ID camps, where coaches are guaranteed to see you compete against high-caliber competition. These camps typically involve on-field matches, drills led by various coaches, and seminars related to the recruiting process.

There are two popular types of ID camps: school-specific camps and multi-college camps.

  • School-specific ID camps: These camps allow you to showcase your skills directly to the coaching staff of a particular university. Often, these camps include training alongside the school's current players, giving you a glimpse into the potential college environment. School-specific camps are ideal if you've already established some contact with a coach who wants to further evaluate you.
  • Multi-college ID camps: These camps are ideal for athletes who haven't had much contact with college coaches yet. Here, coaches from numerous institutions attend to scout for prospective talent. You'll participate in various drills led by different coaches, providing a chance to experience different coaching styles and demonstrate your ability to learn and adapt. These camps often include classroom sessions for players and parents to learn about the recruiting process and ask questions. However, these camps do not guarantee college coaches will notice you, so you must reach out to coaches that will be there before the camp.
