Brayden Taylor is a junior third baseman for the Texas Christian University (TCU) baseball Horned Frogs. The infielder from West Jordan, Utah has racked up quite the list of awards in his three years so far. Prior to the start of the 2023 season, he was named to his second straight preseason Golden Spikes Award Watch List. This award is given out by USA Baseball each year to the top amateur baseball player in the country. Taylor was also voted this year’s Big 12 preseason player of the year. As a freshman, he was named a Perfect Game and 1st-team D1 Baseball Freshman All-American and Big-12 Freshman of the Year.

Taylor received second-team All-Big 12 honors the past two seasons. This season, he made first-team All-Big 12, set a program home run record (48), and has put himself in the top 30 prospects for the MLB draft. He has a career batting average of .32 with 48 home runs and 109 RBIs. So far this season, he helped lead TCU baseball to a 40-22 season record while hitting .321 with 23 home runs. Taylor recently helped the Horned Frogs to a third consecutive Big 12 regular season title. The team is currently playing in the NCAA Super Regionals against Indiana State.

While we may not know whether Taylor will be doing another year of college baseball, he has had an incredible three years at TCU and has proven himself as one of the best in the country. Nevertheless, their season isn’t over yet!
