North Texas Guard Tylor Perry has continued to impress in his second season playing for the Mean Green. In his debut season last year, Perry earned 1st team All Conference USA honors, as well as winning 6th Man of the Year in C-USA. He helped lead the team to the Conference USA West division championship, winning over Louisiana Tech in the final four minutes of play after being tied at 49-49.

Perry came off the bench to high praises, scoring 22 points in his first game for the Mean Green, a trend of high scoring games that would continue for the rest of the season. His points per game would hit a high at 25, but what is a better tell for his utility on the team is his free throw percentage. With a season FT% of .832, he used those free throws to get his team out of sticky situations. He topped his team stat line, 420 total points scored, 13.5 PPG, and a .414 3-point percentage.
As a transfer player from Coffeyville Community College, Perry is in his senior season at the University of North Texas. It is unclear if he will continue to play after graduation, but whether or not he remains on the team, Perry has made a huge impact on the Mean Green, as well as his conference. He led Coffeyville Community College to the NJCAA National Championship in the 2020-2021 season, where he won the tournament's MVP.
It seems that Perry will continue to put up numbers and aims to take his team to new heights this season. His track record shows, it seems his accolades confirm that.
