Heidi Ritner played Division I Water Polo for the University of Michigan. She graduated in 2020 as team captain and with a long list of successes under her belt. Having been injured during part of her time as a college athlete, she addresses the misconceptions around water polo injuries and the recovery process.
Heidi met with her athletic trainer at Michigan, and they agreed that it's most important to take the time to let both your body and your mind heal after an injury. Seeing athletic counselors or just regular counselors is a great way to make sure you're ready to get back into the water after an injury.
